Introduction to Machine Learning

Full disclosure, I am new to machine learning! But I want to share, while there is a lot to learn, it can be easy to get started and there is no substitute for gaining experience. In this session, I will talk about things to consider when starting a machine learning project, walk through one of the first algorithms to learn (The Random Forest), demonstrate how easy Azure Machine Learning is to use, and share with you what I will be working on next to grow my skills.

About Joshua: Joshua Warne is a Business Intelligence Analyst with the Fishback Financial Corporation in Brookings, SD. He has a Master’s in Economics and provides reporting and analytics for projects that involve process enhancements, product development, and customer research. Joshua is also Founder and Director of the (605) SQL User Group and is lead organizer of SQL Saturday Sioux Falls.
