Summary: Presentation will show some ways to use PowerShell as a tool to assist with common DBA tasks. About Gene: I have been working with SQL for 18 years on many different types of systems from OLTP, Data warehousing, database utility, and Batch processing systems. That phase of my career started as an OS system admin position with DB support duties to eventually being transitioned to a fulltime DBA position. Then moved to a web hosting team that also needed support for database utility services (DB, SSIS, SSRS). And now back to a mostly fulltime DBA position. There were many side trips along the way that provided a lot of variety: some Oracle, some Linux, several web server technologies, and the supporting technologies that go with those.
